That’s a pretty cool memory aid. It reminds me of the old “Oscar Had A Heap Of Apples”. For the math nerdy.

Great answer, I do see how hard it would be to identify the species exactly. Yea, theres not much info or pic’s on either species, or purple cesp at all really. I just like to keep researching, cause hey you never know to much, and came across that pic and other forums ppl had said that, but I am going to open the book and look myself. i thought not, bc of some pics i have seen, but again much appreciated and good clarification.
No problem at all. Glad to help.

I think it’s easier for me to remember the other one, lOl
Jon, after skipping ahead in Bornemans book and getting to the Xenia section, how could any one mistake Cespitularia for Efflatournia? wow the difference is HUGE.
I got both Cesp. corals high in my tank, better flow, and the one you didnt give me is looking better, getting less brown i guess you could say, getting less inflated. Starting to stand stright up. Polyps closed but no longer look twisted.
The guy you did give me, when on the bottom, looked real good. Polyps open , liked the flow. I put him up top now as well. The only thing is now its getting really tall, and kinda splinting stalks… Normal? Should I move it back down. Ill take a pic real quick, my batteries are dead on my good cam, so this will have to be on a camera phone.
yup, looks good 2.
thank you, i got 2 of the tan cesp’s in my tank and wow they are flourishing! attaching and looking like they are footing a new colony already
