maroon clownfish question

thanks for the info jon. my fuge light is on at night opposite to my main light. just turned out the fuge light to see what might be around at night. never doid this before, but since i added the pods today, maybe sompin interesting.
i will remind you of the live shrimp offer before the next meeting if i don’t see any. i put 2 bags of chris’s sand trade, 1 in each tank. and my lr came from about 3 different places, 4 if you count a few of icy’s small pieces.

Would be surprised if Mysis were never introduced to your tank through all that. That being said if in the past you didn’t have a sump for an extended period of time(which would serve as a refuge from predation, but lacking a little in food source for micrfuana if a light was absent) then it is possible certain fish and corals could have cleaned out all of your mysis shrimp and they became locally, in your tank, extinct.

Pretty sure my Purple tang eats the micro brittle stars I used to have hundreds of as the tang it is currently has none.(either him or the “Native one” we never got an ID on)

Sorry for getting off topic.

always hadda sump, and light.

You probably have them and just haven’t seen them. We had them in our tank, and they are tough little bastards. Ours survived a 101 degree heat spike and are reproducing now.
