You couls always by a maxi jet and mod it. You could probably do it for around $40 and would have lots more flow than a K powerhead. Personally I love the vortech and the tunze. I know they are expensive, but they blow K’s right out of the water.
ive never seen one, never had one, and i dont know if how to mod it. ive heard some mixed reviews too. some say its too loud and that would suck because tanks in my room. ill look int othis alitle deeper but if anyone else has some input please post
max jet + mod + magnet mount= little more than karollia but do put out nice flow. the max jet is easy to mod, just follow directions. i use karollias. you can find alot of these for around 20 too 30 dollars used. never had any problems with mine so far. as for the sweepers…junk use mine to mix salt in trash can.

I had two modded MJ’s in our tank, and I have unplugged one because it was just to much flow for our LPS.
MJ400 + sureflow mod = $32 - $37 bux brand new and gives plenty of flow. As long as you get new MJs they don’t make a sound with the sureflow kits an seem to do ok starting/stopping. They’ll give you a bit more flow than a K4, consume less than half the electricity and cost less.
yes true but then add cost of magnet mount and you are just above karolia but think the maxi jet is alittle more flow
