Nuclear Green Pictures

At the same time I haven’t tried to sell xenia in a year and 3-4 of our members have bought xenia from an LFS recently at $35 an inch.
We were looking for a certain type and I just wouldn’t pay the LFS prices. We finally got some to make the trip down from Mass though so all is good now.

As far as offering stuff… hey it never hurts to put it out there. I know Keleigh would pay a decent amount for a frag of nuc greens or purple deaths.

… If he posts them up for a fair market price he’ll be criticized for profiting off of something that grows well in his tank…
Why would/do people criticize for profiting off of something that grows well in your tank? I don’t get it. It’s your hard work in the tank that makes it grow well, your entitled to make whatever the market price is for that.

Glad to hear you got some that made the trip. Xenia can be an itch to get to travel.

I didn’t mean that you guys weren’t willing to buy xenia from me. I had said I would let you know when I had some ready that I was 100% sure were free if flat worms. I never contacted you about it because I still don’t have any ready. (On a side note, I really don’t know why I bother with getting things pest free, few other people besides me qt there animals and almost 100% of LFS and wholesalers have the same flat worms.)

Andy had both nuc greens and purple deaths. At work we call him the zoo connoisseur. He’s also got eagle eyes, whamming watermelons(one of my favorites), armor of god, and a ton of those other crazy named zoas. I can’t wait to hear comments when we get photos of his stuff online. I’ve spent many hours over his placing drooling over the pretty colors. Of course after that I often end up reaching in and slicing them up into tiny little pieces, aka fragging. How many other hobbies are there where if you absolutely love an animal you’ll cut it into pieces. LOL

Yeah, I know you’ve been waiting to get pest free… its no biggie. When you finally are bug free we will have to have a run at your frag tanks.

So is Andy going to be the featured tank soon?

I think Glen is coming up first and then Andy. So, soon enough.

Cool. Looking forward to seeing his system.

His zoos are awesome. My favorite by far are the watermelons, eagle eyes, and radioactive dragoneyes. I cant wait for my frags!!!

I think what jon is getting at is that Andy has really nice LE’s that command a good price. I think Andy is torn between making a fair price selling outside of the club to compensate for his hard work and money and his generosity of wanting to help out local reefers. I can completely understand.

If i had a very vaulable LE SPS that i could only frag occasionly i would feel bad selling it to a local reefer for market value just because i like to hook up local reefers. At the same time, most LE’s regardless of species are slow growers. Its a tough spot to be in.

What i would suggest is if anyone is interested in what Andy has, do your homework on what they are worth, offer him the going price, and know that your getting nice frags with no shipping and little chance of a DOA because they are not being chopped up 15minutes before the are given to you. OR, you could give him 100lbs of southdown and work for hours helping him rebuild his system :stuck_out_tongue:

I know what ya mean… I have a hard time setting a price for the yumas that I sell because they normally go for 60-90$ per polyp online but I just cant charge that much for them to people I know. Thats why I sell a few to people online so that I can recoup some of the cost
