Sand in 55

ok, ive seen that stuff before, in the store, and posted on the board…

so this stuff actually is reef safe? i know people use it, but its going to bug me that it says not for aquarium use…

Wash it to remove small particles. You want to use the white sand as it is mostly quartz based. I have used it and I know a lot of other reefers have used the sand

i have nass. snails…and they are ok for stirring the sand…i was reading about SS stars…and it says then will eventually consume everything beneficial in the sand bed, and then starve to death…i wouldnt mind getting a goby of some sort…but im not sure if i want to add another fish just to deal with the sand…i only have 4 fish now, and this time around i want to go more corals than fish…
I bought one, read up, and got rid of it.
SS star in my tank has grown about an inch in the 6 months of having him. A few times i thought he died but then he’d show back up either movin across the sand or emerging/submerging. My Queen Conch does a lot more stirring though.
