here is the old 135 before I move 2 months ago now I am in a 65 rimless tank that I got from Joe. hope you all like. everything didn’t fit into the 65 lol. need to get frags made of all my old stuff and get it back in the tank but because all the sps are way to big to put in this small tank lol.
craig
Craig (zona322) what is that green square thing on that shelf rock in the center?
Your 125 tank is getting full John. looks as it needs to grow up, not spread out. Looks great!
Your 30 cycle yet?[/quote]
Thanks A, i know, i’ve got a lot of “spreaders” and warfare going on (damn you gsp!) . I need some more vertical growth, i agree with that. Some acros, and digi’s that i’ve placed just want to base out, not go up… unless they’re at the bottom… whats some good, fast, tall growing sps? then again… things seem to grow diff under t5’s. I’ve gotta go old school and run a halide one of these days, just for some hands on comparison.
The 30 is still coming along. I recently stirred up, and cleaned out the sump… it was a shit storm, spiked my nitrates up to around 20ppm… figured its fine, i’m feeding the plenum, and beefing up the bacteria…
I’ll give it a couple weeks. Its doing fine though, a tang, CBS, some gsp, and a lil maxima i had to rescue from the 125 are all doing good for the past couple of weeks. Dont really like them exposed to the nitrates, but seems fine
John (houndsbayman) that gorgonia you have on the right side of your tank in the first and fourth pics. Do you feed it? if so what? I can’t seems to keep any in my tank.
Tank looking great as well. lots more room for growth.
How’s the blue milli coming? encrusting and change to its true color yet?
Thanks A. I do not feed anything in my tank individually. I have one on the left side, which hasn’t been doing that great, keeps touching some other coral or falling down. Just reattached it in a different spot today.
Yes the blue millie has encrusted, colored up and is looking fantastic. There is plenty of room for growth and now just going to be patient and enjoy everything filling in the bare spots.
You know, I didn’t know how everything was going to react to the new LED’s, but all have done well, except my main colony of superman monti. trying to find the right locale for it to start growing again. and it’s strange because I have a smaller piece of it and it is growing just fine.
I don’t know any good, fast, tall growing sps John, maybe somone else does. All seems to grow slow for me as well or maybe it is growing fast and I don’t know it since I look at it everyday. But I think you’re right about using T5 or MH.
Same goes for the superman monti I got from you. When I started the bio-plastics thing, it bleach out on me, but I left in the tank hoping it might come back. Low and behold it’s showing red polyps again. Hopefully it will came back and get bigger. Love the superman monti!
Glad to hear the leds are cuttin it John. And the superman… its been a tough one to figure out for me, but the couple small pieces i have that are doing good are just stunning. I hope it goes nutz growing someday
Nice everyone! Now this is a fts thread. John I have three types of fast Sps that get vertical. Not sure of the names but one is the Miami orchid stag from the dpa group buy. It’s more than doubled in size.
