lol! na, i broke one of the supports on my light, so i just shoved that under there just for a temporary fix.

i think imma use my extra egg crate to build some sort of stand for it

yeah its a lil bit cloudy, and things are pissed cuz i moved them around, but here is the aquascaped version!

just did some testing and took a couple shots. my salinity is now where i want it @ 1.026 and my nitrates are @ 20ppm already! temp is about 80, calcium is 455ppm and my mag is about 1300ish.

did lose my pepermints over the past couple days, one got sucked into the skimmer and the other just kicked the bucket yesterday (not sure why).

heres a couple shots of the setup.

just actinics

regular

het also, does anyone else think that the hammer and the trumpet are too close to each other? there is about 7 inches or so between them when they are all the way open.

I think 7" when fuly opened should be plenty - the hammers sweepers will realy determine if it’s far enough away or not.

Are you sure you lost your pepermints and they didn’t just molt? Often times when a shrimp molts it looks like the whole shrimp lying there but when you inspect a little closer you’ll notice it’s just an old shell. How they get out of it leaving it in one piece is something I have yet to figure out.

You may not see them for a couple days after molting as they generally go in to hiding until their new shell hardens and can provide protection again.

Just a thought.

yeah dude, pulled on “body” out of the skimmer’s maxijet, and the other i pulled out of the tank after i noticed the “meat” still in the shell…so, yeah there dead. :-("

Bummer dude. Perhaps they weren’t too happy with the move, maybe salinity didn’t match too well and you moved them too quick?

Tank is looking nice though.

yeah im sure thats all it was, the first died the first night after the rebuild and the other about two days later.

oh well, life goes on, for the corals and fish at least.

thanks for the compliment!
