well, for one thing, scaleless tangs, like a powder blue are most susceptible. less armor against the foe.
There is also the tank transfer method. Go to RC and search that and CP. They are sticky threads and very good reads. With TT method you can have the PBT in and out of QT in 13 days.
or this product from i believe a Baltimore company. supposedly reef safe.

It could work…
Update: After more research, and after the pest matured a bit more, I determined that it wasn’t ICH, and was probably some sort of fluke. The infection spots turned into little white strings about 1/16"-1/8" long, all over its body.
With some tactically cut egg crate to cordon off the least rocky side of my tank, I was able to extract the tang w/o too much of an issue.
Put it in the QT tank that had 80% water from the DT from a recent water change and dosed PraziPro. I’ve never used Prazi pro before but WOW, that stuff worked amazing, and I will us it in any QT as a “just in case” since it’s so affordable. $5 for 130gal worth I believe. 3 Days later and the flukes are 95% gone. Lets just hope they werent egg laying flukes. So far no other fish in the DT has them so we’re looking good sofar. I’ll do the recommended 7 day WC and redose for another 7 just to be safe.
Tang is still eating like a horse and doesn’t appear to be stressed or to be breathing hard. ::
Rob i did the same, ran 2, 1 week prazi pro and then left them in clean water for 2 weeks to monitor any other outbreaks that can occure. I picked up some intestinal bacterial meds during prazi because occasionally they can get a small bact. infection after the praz pro. Good luck man and glad to hear it wasnt ich.

Here is the best pic I was able to shoot with the iPhone, parents we’re borrowing the Nikon at the time.
As you can see, it wasn’t “pimply” like Ich looks. They were small strings, which lead me and my research to think fluke. Apparently I was right. QT gets a WC and carbon tomorrow. Will monitor for 2 weeks to see if a second PraziPro is necessary. Prazi cleaned it up QUICK.
Those spots appear much, much larger than my PBT ever gets. But photos can be decieving.
Good to hear it cleared him up rob. If i were you i would run a second round of prazi pro so that it will get any strands of flukes (eggs) that it may have missed. I ran 2 treatments of it and was very glad i did.
Roger that. I assume I just need to do a WC and run carbon on the tank for a few days to break the Prazi down to hopefully 0ppm before the next treatment? Don’t wanna overdose it. What did you do between treatments Casey?
Rob, i ran the first week treatment, done 25% water change and ran carbon, then 24 hrs later ran round 2. Seen no negative affects. After treatment i did the same thing then waited 2 weeks to observe and to make sure everything was gone, then back in the tank.
Good luck dude ::
