I have tried a new stealth. but it seemed to not heat as well as a little short skinny glass one called a THERMAL COMPACT . Like this one. i use the 100W ones for my 75 gallon frag systems . have several. i used the smaller ones for 10 gallon fish rearing tanks.
pretty basic, not expensive. they are a little toughy to get them set right, tweak up,wait an hour, tweak down to zero in on your temp. but then they seem to work forever. good for small spaces. I think i got my last one at DPA last year.
I used to swear by the old TRONICS heaters. but when Fluval bought them out, they doubled the price. so too expensive for my taste now. those are pretty much the ones that have lasted for me. some of mine are6-7 years old and working fine.
