Will's 300 gal build

Nice build thread. Looks like you’ve put a lot of thought into the setup before beginning.

How about just 3 150-250W MH, "cheep", no chiller.
+1 250w would be more than enough IMO. i have almost an identical tank that i lit with T5s and now LEDs with no issues.

got the floor bracing done tonight and the sump is in place

sump in place

finished floor braces

some plumbing pics… Always use true union ball valves it will save you a lot of problems

i have 360 pounds of rock for the tank

here are the shelf pieces

making the towers… I did this inside the tank it would be a huge pita making them out of the tank than lifting them in

some of the towers

towers done

sand is in the tank

We have water

Impressive! ::thumbsup::

Thanks

It’s coming along. Always cool to watch a new tank come to life. Best of luck!

Good call on the ReeFlo pump btw. Well made pumps by a good honest American company.

Nice!! A tank you can snorkle in! . What kind of plastic rods are you using to string the rock work on? Will they hold up to the load and salt and light?

I’m using fiberglass driveway markers from home depot there 2 bucks and 5/16th better than the price of acrylic rod

what did you use to actually drill the rock?

Cordless drill and some 99 cent drill bits from big lots
