WTB: Big boys tank

Reefman66 : can u post the tank price list when u get it ?

I travel up there frequently…looking for a few different size tanks…

thanks

A, have you checked TFPs sale prices on new tanks? al little discount right now. you might call and ask what they have used in the back room. they had a bunch but I forget if they had a large tank when i was there for the frag swap. or what condition. They did finally sell their old used 700 gallon display tank.

and then again, it doesnt hurt to ask DPA for a quote.

how much is too much?

How about get tanked’s old tank?

I called them since they never did send the list. Apparently they don’t have a list. They order from the ordering book at cost. So, basically you would have to call them for order.

I asked about a 210 gal Aqueon @ $810.99, reef ready but no pipes. and Perfecto @ $949.00 RR with pipes.

My thought as well. I just want the tank, but when someone sell their stuff, they want to sell everything. Which I don’t care for.

I haven’t really call around. I just called Tropiquarium and check with the FB. Both about the same price. I’ll give TFP a call and maybe stop by DPA later. I’m not really in a hurry to get one. I think I’m gonna take some time and shop around and hope to find one for the right price. The cheaper the better of course.

Yeah that Craigslist tank is mine and I’ve also posted it in the club board. I am new to the club so could somebody explain to me how it is that this tank was deemed “dangerous” without a single person looking at it, a single person calling me or a single person e-mailing me? Is this what this club is all about- a bunch of psychic “tank whispers” sitting in front of computer terminals, assuming the worst about people, passing judgement with absolutely no factual basis? As you know, some breeds are prone to injury from running into the glass, specifically such as some varities of the batfish. The white silicon in the picture was put on to hold a contrasting-colored perimeter marker in place (for reference see http://thewalkingbatfish.com/Aquarium_Trade_Species.php) and not as some ghetto fix for a leak. So what is it that makes a few grams of extra silicon “dangerous”?? Now I have to remove this “dangerous” silicon and ensure that only “non-funky”, “safe” clear silicon is in place…and why? Because somebody was too lazy to call or email me before passing judgement with absolutely no facts… Thanks guys…

that was just the initial impression, I didn’t even look at the pic until now and from the pic you can’t tell much, we all give opinions on here nothing is said to insult anyone. So the opinion on your tank is just an opinion from a picture that is without detail. But from the pic of what we can see you have to admit that it looks suspect. but now that you have explained it maybe someone will reconsider.

So that white silicone was meant to hold some kind of gaurd to the side of the tank to keep the bat fish from running into the sides? I was looking at this tank but cant afford it right now …

No, sorry you feel that way. but its a club, we all help, and look out for eachother…and those who mentioned the negatives about the tank are speaking from years and years of experience. I agree with the others… anything less then a proffessional, or perfect diy re-sealing on a large tank is asking for trouble. We’re a cool bunch of sob’s but a less then perfect seal that keeps 200g of water off the living room floor is gonna get scrutinized by everyone here, by the pic and description i think it was fair comments, no offense… great looking stand though, i can appreciate all the woodwork…good luck selling it

Hello David, I’m the one who emailed you last week about your tank. However, my decision for not buying the tank was not what you post the picture of, it was the price and what you offered. But, of course I would never buy something with out looking at it with my own eyes. As most people who has been in this hobby for a long time, we all know and what to look and expect for in this hobby.

Also, as I stated before in this forum. All I’m looking for is just the tank and no other items. Of course, I know when people sell their tanks, they would also like to sell the rest of the stuff that goes with it to get rid of it. Well, when that happens the price goes up. Sure, we can negotiate, but I know for the price that I’m looking at, you would laugh at me. I’m not in a hurry to upgrade. I will when the price is right or when I have more funds. Thank you for coming to our club and offering your tank.
