2 MH Complete setups

Here is an amasing chance for someone who has wanted to get MH lights for a great price. I have 2 complete MH setups for sale. These are Plug and Play. The CoralVue 250W ballasts are from my frag tank and are only 2 yrs old, the Lumenarc Big Boy reflectors (19"x19")are from my main tank and are 8 yrs old and in very good shape. The outside of the reflectors are a little pitted from use, but the inside is still in very good condition. The setup will also include 2 Reeflux bulbs 250W 12k that are only 8 months old with plenty of use left in them. Both will also include the Quick Disconnect plugs on the mogul. You can have these for $130 each or take both for $250.

Bead locked there’s your reflector

John guess you happy with the LED’s then?

haha, i was thinking the same thing.
Thats cool though, i’m glad you’re that happy with them John… whoever gets these lights at this price will be happy too…
:BEER

Yes,
Pugs are very playful.

Do those ballast also run 250W HQI? In case anyone was thinking of a different reflector. those are wider than my tanks, fer instance. I’m pretty sure they do.

Yes they will run HQI’s there the same that I have running my phoenix bulbs

Yes I am very pleased with the LED’s and have decided to stick with them for the long run. I laid out alot of money for them and I am also going to buy the T5 fixture from Ellen for my frag tank.
Actually I have 3 more 250w ballast, that are 8yrs old and work fine, 1 more big reflector ( had all 3 over my DT) and 2 spider reflectors with moguls.
Going to be running MH free. LOL

I have lowered the price of these setups to $100 each, before I post them on the frag swap.

John, are these the dimmable ballasts? googling them says they come both ways…

No, John. I seem to remember when I was buying them, I read something about the dimmable ballast having problems.

Thanks John. one more question… how much clearance do the reflectors need between them and a wooden canopy?

That would be 9 inches. So from the top of the canopy, on the inside, the reflector needs 9 inches. Then you would need some clearence off of the top of the water, like 10 inches. so when I had them in use, the bottom of the reflector was 10 inches off the top of the water. hope this is helpful and not confusing.

Very helpful… i’m trying to figure out if i could use one of these… go old school on my frag tank… but to clarify, the reflector needs 9’’ total? so about 18’’ total from inside top of canopy to water level? and thats the reflector mounted how close to the canopy? 1/2’’ or so? i dont know how hot these things get. sorry if i’m being a pia.

maybe we could get Tim over here and draw us up a fancy pants picture with detailed measurements
::rofl::

The reflector has a hole on the top of it and I just screwed the reflector to the top of my wood canopy.

Thanks John, souns like an easy install. I’ll have to take some measurements tmmrw and put some more thought into it. besides its in the bedroom, and you know who would get all huffy if i turned the lights on to measure >::: ::hitsthefan:: slap-stick

::rofl::

actually my tape is in the garage and its tooo dam cold to go get it

What do you think about one of these over a 30g, what amount of vho, or t5 actinics would do the job? would two 39w t5 420’s do the trick?

Okay, 2 T5’s 39W 420"s I think would be plenty with the 250W MH and should have a nice color too.

Well, i’ve only got 12’’ of space above the tank. The tank has only 10 1/2 ‘’ of water depth also. Darn, that would only leave me 3’’ to reach in… and be too close to 10’’ of water most likely

Ok, no prob. I will be listing these on frag swapper.

Someone has agreed to purchase all 3 setups. This thread can be closed

Thank you.

Hey John - being a mod you should see a link at the bottom of the thread that says "lock topic" that’d be the one we use to lock threads - let me know if you still don’t see it.

edit - it wil say “unlock topic” now as I’ve locked it for you.
