From reading this thread I now know what kind of algae I have in my tank(dinoflagellates) in addition to cyano. Now to figure out how to get rid of it. I have softies and lps in my tank. Does the peroxide dosing affect inverts?
Can you post a pic / start another thread? If it’s dino’s I can ID them. Lots of people think they have them, but they’re looking at something different.

I will start another thread. Dont want to add all of this to A’s build thread!
I can’t believe it’s been 2 years since I’ve updated this thread. I’ve been busy of course. Considering the wife really take care of the tank while I’m gone, it’s doing pretty good. Maintenance an water change every 3 month and still doing OK. Right now just having heating issues, but being fix. Here’s some pics from 3 month ago. Thanks to Bill again for the corals and John at our last fragswap. Still alive and kicking, but not very well due to low temp.
Not sure what happen. I guess it wasn’t getting fed, so it went away. Now I have fish and it’s getting fed and now red slim starting to come out. Also, KH was pretty low so, I have to make sue the parameter is up to par.
I have been fighting red slime for a while! I hate that crap! I have ben dosing peroxide to beat the slime! It works to an extent but i cant get it to completly clear up. Next i will be doing a double dose of chemiclean
I had a good result with eromycin when I had my 125g. The stuff they use to treat for bacteria in fish. I put half of the tablet in and turn off the skimmer for 2-3 days and it started going away. I treat again for the second time and it goes away completely. Of course water change after. Not sure how much to treat for 300g, but I’m sure 1 or 1 1/2 tablet will work, that’s if you want to try. I don’t have time to treat mine right now, but maybe next time I’m home…if it still there.

Tank is doing very well A. Looks real good. Love the pics.
Thanks John. It could be better of course, but considering the situation. It’s doing better then expected. At least it still up and running, lol.
Well, it’s been a while since I have time to up date this tank re-build. Everything is still the same. Somethings are still growing and doing well and some are slowly but surely growing and of course most had gone due to lack of time to care for. Now I’m back and have more time for the tank. I’m gonna try to get it back up to speed and maybe it’ll get somewhere once again.
Meanwhile I was fortunate to get my hands on a Magnifica Ritteri Anemone, a new home for my percula clowns. I always wanted one and never seen one around here till now. It’s doing well and the clowns took couple of days to realize that they have a new home and now they’re very happy with it. Here’s some pics.
