i think paul first posted something about this? well now you can buy it for a fraction of the cost at the low, low price of $3000. lol make you wonder whos stupid enough to spend that kinda money. i can’t really see more then 1000 for any coral.
Damn that sucks. I want one of these soooo bad. I’ve started collecting fungia. There were a couple at MACNA for $100-$200, but I thought about it too long and someone bought them before I could decide. There was also a $500 sunset fungia.
Group buy wouldn’t work out too well. First off we have never had 50 people make any meeting and if we can’t get them to do that we could never collect $ from that many people. Secondly we would probably only want to frag it in 4-5 pieces max. Some species can only handle being divided into 6 even pieces. Identification to species isn’t impossible, but difficult.(trying to learn, but I’m not there yet) Some species could be shattered into MANY pieces, so perhaps when I learn it would be possible.
If so, why entrust it to only the highest bidder. Who may have the money to buy it, but not have the ability to survive it. Better to find a scientific lab to carry it on, and propagate it.
Extinction~?!~ Creeping up upon us?
I get really upset when i loose the last frag of a coral i have kept for a long while. Some i may have never seen before, elsewhere.
