i had this thread stickied over on reefland and i went to copy past it here but all the links broke so i’ll just link the thread. it is alot of detailed information for everyone who enjoys reading about our hobby.
Tim. Thank you for the links. I dont have the time to go through them, but im sure a lot of the same links, or very similar ones, can be found in DRC’s link collection.
Im pointing it out only for those who might not be aware of our own collection as well as to keep as much traffic as we can on our own boards ;D A lot of fourms actually dont allow links to other forums and they are removed fairly quickly. Personally, when its something like this i dont see the issue. I just want to make everyone aware of our own, often overlook, resources. If your interested, i would also encourage you to maybe compare your sticky with our own collection and submit any updates or new links that you think are needed, broken, or missing. I know myself, and a lot of others, would certainly appreciate any contributions you can make.
i hadn’t seen a link collection till i just looked, and i’d bet most would not go outside of this forum looking, alot of people expect to see the link section in the reef section, as i did until now.
i will take a look and see if there are the same links in my thread, i could also repost them each in my thread here, like i said i tried to copy past my other thread and the links were broken, i didnt really want to post a cross forum thread but it works for now.

i agree. thats why i posted.

you could, but it would likely get buried quickly. Having Ted post them under the links section would ensure that they stay there until the code is physically changed or removed. These boards traditonally reserve stickied posts for temporary threads that are important, not for archival purposes. It allows for important threads to be noticed and not buried within a bunch of stickied archive-type threads. Personally, i think thats the way it should be and as the DRC site becomes more content driven and not just a BB i believe the links will get much more traffic. Until then, it will just be up to the members in the know to point them out to members that might not be aware of them.
We’ll have to compare links though I would rather not see our list get too long.
It isn’t easy to find good information on the web. I once thought about making a list of my own favorite links, but really I would rather point people to a good book or magazine article as I think many people waste too much time on forums or reading from sites that have something to sell.

Lol the reef section? There is a small lounge where none reef related stuff is discussed, but the rest of the site is… reef stuff.
If anyone can browse and compare topics and links and find some new ones, Just identify them in a post and one of the mods can add it to our link list.
Like Mother Borg said, “We can add the uniqueness of your list to our collective” or … something like that…

Actually I made the links section.
We have about 60% of those links covered. I will compare them later today and update our list.
I didnt say Ted made them, i said ask Ted to add to it
I know you made it Al, and believe it or not, its appreciated!! As your little one is getting older, im really looking forward to you getting back into the hobby a little more and active on the boards again!
I added the ones that were not listed already
I will still have to add sub categories to several sections that have gotten too large
ie: chemistry and Invertebrates Identification, Care, Reproduction ,
