added 2nd chamber to reactor

I was having a difficult time trying to keep my calcium levels up with the reactor I am using, so I decided to build and add a second media chamber. Got it up and running a few days ago and today I checked all my parms and the calcium level is rising. When it gets to the point where I want it to be, just have to tweak the reactor to maintaim that level.
The marking on the top of the new chamber is not correct. The top is actually the out line to the sump.

Nice DIY project. Lots of reactor users install the second media tank. it makes sure all the CO2 or Carbonic acid is reacted by media before returning to the tank. Excess carbonic acid causes low PH in the tank. It should give you higher PH and better calcium levels. a worth while project that doesn’t cost very much. Should make the corals grow better since low PH slows them down.

Nice job. it looks like all standard plumbing for Home Depot.

Any kind of special diffuser plate in the bottom? Are you using a zeolite mix of media for extra Magnesium , I think ?

Nice addition!!

Thanks

Yes all standard plumbing parts. The bottom is a 3" x 4" adapter and I drilled a hole on the bottom to run hose. Very simple project. I saw chamber add-ons for @ $170 on line. I spent a total of $32.
The media is the coarse media from ARM.
