Hey guys! I am in the market for a new LED light fixture. Here is what I’ve got and what I’m looking for…
What I’ve got:
A 75gal tank with refugium. It currently has a 6bulb t5 fixture on it, sunlight supply tek with German reflectors. It’s been a great light kit for a long while now, but it’s time we upgrade. It provides the perfect amount of light for what we have, though we do occasionally get some red algae when the bulbs start to dim (actually around this time of year). We have many varieties of corals. We have large montiporas, acroporas, milleporas, Pavona, galaxea, torches, frogspawns, Duncan’s, a large wellsophyllia, blue star polyps, GSP, mushrooms friggin everywhere ricordias, and as always, zoos.
What we want:
A programmable, timed, multi-spectrum LED kit that will provide an ample amount of light and can be adjusted. One that will fit our whole tank (even if it needs to be two physical units). I like the idea of the thunderstorm and cloud cover and all those programmed options as well. As always I’m concerned about paying too much, but I don’t want to throw a price tag out there. We also don’t want to build, I’m no electrician. We want something that we can swap out, without much hassle. We are willing to move corals to new spots if needed. Lastly, I want something that will last. A reputable producer and one that will live to that beautiful lifespan of those LEDs.
If you can provide links, that would be great. Or if you think of a certain supplier, that would be good too. Lastly, I would also like information about choosing one as well. Things like what dimension I need or what “watt per gallon” I need.
This place is awesome for information and has provided such reliable info before, so I am hoping to rely on you again.
Thanks!
