almost ready

so i went to the tfp on friday and got everything i needed for my 75 to get started.spent alot of money but it should look really good once i get everything done. my wife wanted to go but i told her i think i should go on my own. good thing she didnt she would have ripped my hands if she knew how much money i spent.the only thing i didnt get for the 75 was plexi glass and silcone i bought both from home depot yesterday i didnt relize the plexi glass would be so expensive.so today i plan on cutting the baffles for my sump and glueing them in when i get home from work.then i will go and buy the pvc pipe and fittings i need to hook tank up so maybe by next week i should have water in my tank and starting to cycle

on a side note i decided not to make a closed loop i was scared to death of drilling my tank and it shatters.
BoNg abcd thanks for all ya advice thru all this i will def be looking for more in future

you can have a closed loop without drilling the tank. all you use is two hang on back pvc pipe U-tubes. one for suction the other for return with an external pump between them. to start flood the intake pipe with water with a submersible pump, to blow the air out of the tubing. and its good to go. I would put a screen on the intake to keep it from sucking up critters.
