And then there were nine........

Clams that is! YahoO

I’ve got at least one of everything but a giga now… I picked my first crocea at DPA today, a nice little blue one i’ve been looking at there all week. I’ll get some better pics when i give it full lighting tmmrw. but here’s one i took at dpa before it was bagged up.

Its the smaller one on the left

Very nice John!! That was the nicest of the 2.

I'd love to have a giga as well but there is no collecting on them at least for now and has been for a couple years.

Thanks Bill ::thumbsup::

maybe someday we’ll be able to get gigas again! did you ever have one? you’ve got plenty of “real estate” for one now!

No I never had one but I love there pattern, be nice to get one.

the crocea is a beauty. wanna see a top down shot! john, since you have 9, are you dosing ca? u know that the crocea’ll need a bit more light than the maxi’s and a lot more than hippo, squammie and derasa. right now, i have 3 in qt–max, hip, cro–which will next week give me 16 in my tank. so far all is well. the ca reactor keeps the ca at 420 and above. [don’t get excited at that number, either, you hippy]. the only time i ever see gigas for sale is when someone has one that’s too big for a tank. local pick up and never less than $300.

Thanks Paul, i’m looking forward to a top down shot also… i’ll work on that. Also i’m gonna get a piece of rock under the crocea so it’ll attach and eventually get moved up to a bit more light. I’ve been dosing two part pretty much the whole life of the tank, and the calcium has been getting sucked out quick lately. so I’ve been dripping Kalk the past few weeks, about a gallon a day. I’m happy with the results so far. Seems like its maintaing my alk at 9dkh, and the calcium at a perfectly hippie 420.
speaking of which… its now 8:40… thats 420 twice ::rofl::
:-)lol

i need to get busy then, twice. i’ll cough a couple times for you.

see ya monday! at the meeting

No top down shot yet, but a quickie through the glass…

very nice! ::thumbsup::

GREAT shot john, clear, and very pretty color. pattern almost jumps out at ya. my newbies go into dt tomorrow or fri.

Very nice crocea ::thumbsup:: I think that might be the nicest one I have seen.

Thanks Paul and Tim, and yeah Jeff, its my first crocea, and by far my most colorful clam! no top-down view necessary to really enjoy it (us short guys love that) ::rofl:: its screaming awesome blue from any viewing angle.

Nice! a little habit forming… Like Blue Velvet! By Tony B.
