I do need more power heads, but no way can I afford to test something only two people on Reef Central have used. I can’t afford to pay that much money to try out something that hasn’t proven itself. Marineland, Hydor, and Tunze are the names I trust.
If you try them out I’d like to hear how it goes.
oh, Im on their mailing list. cheap chinese knock offs. no mention of spare/replacement parts when the break. I would stick with american.
I want comment on quality of american vs chinese built products. However, i will mention something that some people may find interesting.
Some of you may know that i purchased the dreaded “chinese knock off” odessysa light fixture. For those that dont know, Odessysa is the new name for the even more dreaded jebo brand. Well, i saved a ton, used the cheap ballasts/bulbs for a year and gutted the fixture eventually. It is now a custom 2 X 250 MH, 2 X 54W T5 fixture driven by all icecap ballasts and it was still cheaper than similar fixtures. Anyways, i was in DPA the other day and i saw a 24" version of my fixture on consignment. I was like awesome, i can probably pick this bad boy up dirt cheap and build a nice quality fixture. I turned it over and was like WTF, they wanted $200ish for the fixture. Then a saw it, it was a coralife fixture. This fixture is not similar to my odessysa, it IS my odessysa. Its the EXACT same fixture. The ONLY differnce was the 8 silver letters. Now im sure it came with “coralife” bulbs, and “coralife” ballasts, but its something to consider when buying “american made”
