Hey guys - just got some bad news. Chris Brightwell’s truck borke down this morning and he doesn’t have a back-up. He’s not giong to be able to make tonight’s meeting. We’re hoping we can reschedule for the May meeting.

We are going to continue with our original plan and will still hold a group discussion on low nutrient systems, their benefits, their draw-backs, and how to be successful.

On the positive side this will enable us to have an extended “What the heck is going on with my tank?” conversation. It looks like we will have a fair number of new members joinging us tonight which will be a great time for our more experienced members to share their insight and wisdom as well.

We will still be raffling off the frags from East Coast Aquatics, as well as the 75 gpd RODI unit from Bulk Reef Supply. PBJ!

Oh - and Kapt’n Ken is making Chilli again ::drool:: ::drool::

I am sorry to have to miss tonights meeting, but I have a late seminar going on at work with some visiting scientists.

You all have fun tonight.

are we still being joined by some people from neighboring reef clubs? for those of us that volunteered, should we still make/bring the food we said we would?

Yes we should have some members from other area clubs present - if you’ve volunteered to bring anything please still bring it.

Were they coming just for “brightwell”???, if so, did we let them know about the cancellation?

No they were coming because I told them we have a real live smurf - “Reefer Smurf” - that’s not to be confused with the you though John - “Chimney Smurf”

Yes I let them know - I think we may still see them though.

“Chimney Smurf”… that’ll work… better then “gimpy smurf”…ok… Pauls “Grumpy Smurf” kens “Papa Smurf”
So who’s “Reefer Smurf”? ? ?
Who are you?
Where’s " Smurfette"
And why the hell am i talking about smurfs? slap-stick

Btw, if we’re smurfs, what does that make Ian? is there such a thing as “nano” smurfs?

That’d be the “Reefer Smurf” I was referring too ::rofl::

That’s what i originally thought… the “reefer” part threw me off though… ::rofl::

I tried to post this hours ago and since people had made new replies it didn’t upload and I didn’t realize it.

Hey guys, quick update. Several people have posted questions about low nutrient systems and related topics recently, so we will still discuss low nutrient systems. Craig has asked me to give some very brief background on low nutrient systems and then steer an open discussion on the topic. Chris has sent me a copy of his presentation to take a look over as well. I am not going to be giving his presentation, but this will help me steer the conversation to set things up for when Chris will be able to make it to a meeting. I have maintained several systems using a low nutrient approach for a little over a month and a half now and have read a great deal on the topic. I have also personally discussed low nutrients systems with Chris for hours in the past. I can’t drop as much wisdom and only have a small fraction of the personal experience that Chris has, but should be able to answer some basic questions and help steer the discussion.

I’m waiting to hear from Chris now as to when he may be able to make a meeting, but may not know for sure tonight. I will be sure to pass on a firm date asap to the club officers so they can update the news feed and the home page.

Everyone please still bring food and also bring any questions you may have about your own aquariums.
