Can anyone give me some insight on a good way to set up my rock in my tank to allow for the best coral growth and astheric appeal? Also would like some help with coral placement throughout the tank
Welcome Christian
What size tank do you have ?
Aquascaping is very much based on the opinion of the individual reefer. That said, there are some things that are brains are programmed to find appealing. In particular, we are wired to find Fibbonacci sequences pleasant. I made a very brief write-up about this some years ago on my site for my old 75g tank.
It is about half-way down the page.

Like adam said its based on your taste and what you like. However just keep in mind some fish like places to hide like caves and such. Also keep in mind you dont want to have to many places with little or no flow, thats where the fish waste and uneaten food will sit. If you have time to plan this out i would start with google search aqua scapes or look or rc or r2r, there is some amazing tanks on those sites from around the world.

My favorite technique is building rock columns using paving stones and fiberglass marker rods from home depot. Drill the paving stone to accept the rod and you have a solid base. Drill the rock to accept the rod and stack. You can create unstable looking aquascapes that are very stable. You can see my result here:

My tank is 350g and I have about 300 lbs of rock.
