Aquascaping basics

So as everyone knows we are setting up a 75gal… I have to buy tons of rock… does anyone have any opinions on how to keep live rock/base rock anchored together so it does not slip or fall away? I am always worried of a tumble in my tank and I really would like to sleep at night knowing its going to alright. I plan on buying tons of base rock, so I am able to mess with it while I wait for the whole set up to be ready.

Any ideas?

Neatly stacked sometimes will work. If you are assembling it dry gluing them together and I've seen people used high grade stainless rod and drill holes and put together with rods.

I drilled holes in some of the larger pieces and I use PVC or CPVC and Aqua Sticks epoxy putty.

i drilled my rock and have never been happier used masionary bits. i find it easier to drill the rock when it is wet.

It is pretty easy, and all you really need is some epoxy and some super glue. Just use the epoxy and put super glue on each side, and let it dry… and make sure the rocks support each other and all will work out

I’ve heard of people using the poly driveway markers (the orange snow plow avoidance thingies) as dowels with good results.
