I bought a bottle months back and it worked great. Treated my 180g with a double dose several times and it cost a fraction as much as Flatworm Exit. So I bought another bottle of amazon. It was much darker in color than the last bottle I had. Probably expired, but shocker >::: no expiration date. So I dose it anyway :BB).
Right away, all my micro brittle starts pop out of the sand and start acting weird. The big one died the next day. Now I’m doing daily 25% water changes, but the die-off continues. All my sps minus pocillopora are dead. Chalices, acans, lobos, bubble coral and blastos are all hanging on.

Does anyone who has a flatworm problem in their tank, have an idea from where they may have come from?
It is so very important to dip newly acquired SPS frags before placing them in your tank. And that means no matter where you get them from.
This would make a topic that ALL members should be interested in knowing how to avoid.[/quote]
Absolutely! Nothing goes into my tank without being dipped, period. Bayer first and then peroxide on zoas.
Gotta ask how bad was your flat worm problem? If it was real bad they release a lot of toxins when they die, it’s so very important to have your carbon ready to go.
I’ve never used that brand and don’t have any experience with it
They were all but gone. I only actually saw 2 flatworms. I’d been doing weekly doses for 3 straight weeks so I was only trying to kill whatever hatched between treatments. I run carbon after the treatment.
Besides carbon, use some POLY FILTER also in the filter sock or under the return line. full flow, it absorbs lots more bad stuff, like the worm toxin.
Actually, Ive never heard of that product, but it seems to have been out for a long time. What is the active chemical in it? does it say? the DIY i used 8 or 9 years ago was lavamisol Hydrochloride, Pig wormer that was sold at tractor supply back then for farms. its since been replaced by the FDA with something else. lavamisol worked good, but i got impatient and kept adding a bit more until i saw the wormies curling up an hour later. but a little too much by then. lost a couple scaleless fish. otherwise, red planaria all gone and corals good. I know you have some other worms, but it would have probably worked on them too. and the current dog wormer too.
