Bad batches of glue

So I have been to the dollar stores countless times and filled a basket full of dollar store glue. Typically can’t beat 3 tubes for $1. Recently though I ran into a bad batch. It’s super sticky and won’t come out of the tube and if you manage to get it out it is stringy… yeah not sure how to describe it other then crappy and no good for fragging. Talked with Mike from TFZ and he found the same thing. I figured it was just the dollar store near him, so I bought some more glue in Newark. I now have probably over $25 worth of useless tubes of glue.

For time being I have switch to hobby glue such as ones from TLF and Boston Aqua Farm which you can buy at some LFS. Just thought I would give a heads up, so someone else doesn’t decide to stock up on a ton of super glue and find out they are all worthless.

boooo… i was about to buy some… now im back to the expensive stuff

i noticed it didnt grip initially. but it still does stick when cured. it seemed more like jello than gel . i just dry the frag and rock, apply glue, let sit 30 seconds, then wiggle the frag into it and prop it in position to cure. and dribble some tank water over it after about a minute to set it up. in a a minute or two its good to move into the tank and finish curing.
