whats your guys take on bio wheels, use them or lose them?
my tank is being run Exclusively on bio wheels. with that said a fuge would probably be alot better.
They are along the same lines as bio-balls. They do their job, very effectively. There is some debate over their tendency to raise nitrates. If you have no other filter, use them. If you have a fuge, or a ton of rock- I’d lose them.
thanks, i dont have a fuge or a sump but i do have a good bit of rock. ive had them running on my tank for about 2-3 months, just wondering if they actually of some benefit. i know a little too late to ask hahaha.
Unless you are having nitrate problems, I’d let well enough alone. If you start having issues look at them again.
