I noticed my rather fat little lawnmower blenny making a peculiar little head bobbing dance the other day and right as I put my face up to the glass she scuttled off to a rock and she, um, well, dispensed some green looking “stuff” that I am thinking are eggs into a crevice in a rock.
This is the first time I have seen it do this. I am thinking these are eggs??? I have looked everywhere and wouldn’t ya know there isn’t a whole lot out there about Blennies having babies! I know, I was shocked too! But since there isn’t a wealth of info on these critters doing the dance I was wondering if anyone has any info on it. I have no Idea if the eggs need to be fertilized outside, or if they are internally fertilized and the parent is asexual. No clue. Any info would be appreciated.
well you are the proud parent of blenny turds…congrats…lol the dance is just thier personality.
Yep sure sounds like it pinched a blenny loaf, to me…
Not sure about the particulars on blenny breeding, but there aren’t many fish that fertilize internally, and even fewer that may be asexual. But I have never heard of ANY that have green eggs that simply fall out when frightened… I gotta agree with the masses on this one.
eeeewwwwww you watched your blenny drop a deuce ::hitsthefan:: ::hitsthefan::
