Brett's 90 gallon reef

no, i dont think they are. i took a look and they were not running. i have never heard them either but they are probably quiet and my set up is a little noise

i can’t hear mine either, i can feel the fans blowing air though

ill keep an eye on it, why is it you ask?

i ask b/c they are supposed to be temp activated. yesterday, even at low intensity i could feel the air blowing.

my tank is covered so there is not much heat around the fixture.

yeah, but mine’s in the basement at a low temp normally.

time for an update…
i really lost interest in the tank until last week when i went to california and visited vivid aquariums. With the new inspiration i had to make some changes with the tank. i kicked it into high gear and the tank looks pretty nice now.

i added some sand. about 40 pounds which is just enough to cover the bottom. i did this becasue i wanted to add different kinds of wrasse which need a sand bed.

the frag tank and refuge were taken off line a month or so ago becasue i was losing too much water and at the time i wasnt up for replaceing it.

i added more rock to the display. this rock was already in other parts of my display.

so here she is with some new live stock

ill try for some better pictures later on today.

welcome back brett. nice to see you again. nice look on the tank, but moire pics needed. how was vivid? i really like their service.

i wasnt too suprised, but that was because i watched alot of the store videos. there fish selection was great, there 800 display was amazing and the coral tanks were packed with crazy pieces. it is a really nice store. i will be ordering some stuff online after i come back from Chicago in 2 weeks. probably going to order some fish from liveaquaria and some coral from vivid. if only i had my own credit card. haha

Nice additions to your tank, keep us updated on your new purchases from vivid. ::thumbsup::

im having a hard time getting accurate pictures. here are some to hold you over until i can figure this situatioin out.

i have an orange fungia plate that looks incrediable. gotta get a better picture tho.

what are your AI settings, brett? care to share the intensity and the times?
seems to me that you are getting some light spilling over. maybe they are mounted too high?? one rail, right?

Well over due for an update. Glad to see you posting again.

I’m extremely jealous.

Don’t be in a rush to get one of those. Much better to occasionally use a credit card with Mom and Dad’s name on it then to own your own and only be able to use that.

Nice rock work Brett. It reminds me of a Dali painting or two. Very Artistic. Glad to see you are still working on the tank in between other stuff.

Hey, im having better results with my frag tank, now that ive got new bulbs and installed the plenum sandbed 3 weeks ago. I think i still owe you some frags or corals. even that valida and a couple other frags you gave me a year or two? ago, well after sitting dormant all this time through my slime period, have recently revived. they are no bigger now, but are just now sprouting color and buds again so someday soon on those. so say when you need some stuff. we can make a list, I need some room for the Dr. Mac trip this month.

ken- i want to give the tank some time to marinade. the frags you gave me are still holding up, except for the birdsnest and the purple digi.

jon- its hard to spend cash online, haha.

Paul- when i get the time i will post the AI information. the light spill may be due to my acrylic lids. I lose about a degree in heat and about 1/2 a gallon of water. When i get my ato i will remove the lids and i can crank my heaters up if need be.

Yesterday we went up to Frazer and i picked up 6 different florida ricordeas, a purple and green wellsophyilla, and another rhodatics mushroom.

its hard taking pics under leds but here we go…

my newest acan from macs.

colors off a little

again color off a little

Sweet additions Brett!!!

Oh Yeah, you got some of His sweet acans and corals. how about a current FTP?

Are you only running the blue AI fixture?

yes i am andrew.

ken if i can get a good picture, ill post it.

thanks Rosti
