Bristle worm control

Noticed a bunch in my nano tonight and was wondering how i should control the number and/or get rid of them?

go to our diy site and read worm trap. i will give you one if you can wait till meeting

If you could bring one to meeting that would be great.

Thanks.

My numbers are starting to get up there too, I’m wondering at what point do they become an issue? Some are FAT!

I’m pretty sure there are some wrasses that will control bristle worms. I’m pretty sure Arrow crabs do a good job too, but I heard they wipe them out and then starve.

the most commen wrasse is the 6 line to control them. i would get the numbers low with my $19.99 trap lOl then just keep them in check. every once in awhile trapping the overpopulated tank. i leave some just to help with clean up crew. nothing wrong with a few. i caught around 50 in 6 hours with THE MARTIN WORM TRAP AND IF YOU ORDER NOW!!! YOU CAN GET IT FREE AT MEETING lOl

Wow 50 in 6 hours!

Lol, I’d take one if your making extras…as long as I don’t have to pay $30 in shipping and handling!

ok so its ianh and ravensfan i will bring materials for 5 traps so there will be 3 more for the taking.

glenns trap IS pretty sweet… i have used a 20 oz bottle the same way. kinda ugly, but it gets the job done.

uhhh, just collect some of the extra worms and sell them on the forum as a reef dertivore upgrade kit!! throw in a few pods and spaghetti worms for good measure.

ken i like the way you think. $$$$$$$$$$$$$$ verdict_in i should have thought of that

well, some people make a nice living off of selling those little critters. micro stars, and chitons too. all good things to have in the reef tank. like this place in Ha-Why-He!!

http://www.ipsf.com/

seems high priced for me. but i might like to get a spoon of their pond mud sometime. I often give away little bags of these critters as starter kits for peoples in the club. when i can catch em.

or another GREAT source of micro bio diversity is GARF GRUNGE. i boughtafew pounds of this muck 10 years ago when i first set up my 75 reef, and i swear i still find new stuff popping up now and then from it. whenever the tank conditions alow, the seeds are there to start.

we should make a group order for some GARF GRUNGE , frags and stuff, sometime. they have a lot of nice diversity to share. not usually large frags, but good little starters. I like GARF/ Good Peoples.

And they trade for new species frags too!!
