Bristle worms?

Correct me if I am wrong but I believe these are bristle worms. Are they good or bad? I have notice several in my tank. They come out every time I put seaweed in. I use the clip with the suction cup and it always falls to the bottom (time for a new one ). They literally suck the seaweed in in a matter of a few minutes. From what I can tell there are about 7 or 8 of them. A couple of which seem to be 6 inches or more long.

Looks like a fire worm or Eunicid worm. “Regular” bristle worms are good things to have, fire worms and Eunicid worms - not so much.

If they aren’t bothering anything in your tank they are fine. They look like normal bristle worms to me, they are a helpful part of your CUC.

It’s a regular bristle worm. No worries. They do a good job of helping keep your tank clean.

If you can see 7 or 8 of them when you feed the tank then you probably have 500 in your tank. They are not a problem and will self regulate their numbers based on available food.

I have pics and a video somewhere of one that had to be an easy 15"

+1 regular bristleworm.

If you have deep sand bed they are great for it.

Be sure not to touch them with your bare hands, they are covered in tiny spines. If you do, put elmers glue on it and let it dry, then peel it off.

Thanks guys!!! They don’t bother anything that I can tell anyways. They have been in there awhile now but I recently noticed how big they had gotten. I was just concerned with the size of them.

Thanks for the tip!!! No intentions on touching them but if I do come in contact with them will definitely give the elmers glue a try!.

You WILL know if you touch one in the wrong way. Your face will ----- #@$^
