named winston, and he’s deafer than i am. he has the same bloodlines as our beloved stewart. he’s 7 months old.
Congrats on the new football head, I hope he brings you many years of joy and chewed up stuff
and I only mean that in the nicest of ways, as some of our favorite stories are of what our puppies destroyed.
Beautiful dog Paul. I’m sure Winston will be just as good as Stewart was. Have to stop by sometimes to see him.

abso the breed, john, he’s a bull terrier. target dog, also.
Congrats Paul
It's tough to be without one when you have one for so many years
I worked at Concord Pets for 3 years and came across a lot of different breeds of dogs, and bull terriers are definitely in the top ten of my all around fav dogs. He looks great, too! Love the pink snout ;D
Sweet Puppy!!
the update is not happy. the puppy had many more problems than we could deal with, besides being deaf and destructive. he seemed almost autistic, paying very little attention to us. so we had to return him to his owner. details are difficult to retell–he broke my sump, ate some shoes, kept barking and running while also in a state of intense puking throughout the house-- and it wasn’t a snap decision, but it had to be done. even the breeder agreed. a new dog, one with a little more training and fewer problems is coming after new years. bull terrier for sure.
Well sorry to hear that Paul, but much better to figure out there was an issue andmake the decision now than in a year when you’ve grown attached and he destroyed even more.

thanks craig.it was a really hard decision to make, but a needed one.
Yup, tough choice, but you both have to be happy together and get along. I’m sure the right one is out there, patiently waiting for you to open your door to him.
Plenty of nice dogs at the pounds who would be happy to find a nice home.
Yes you made a sad but right choice before everyone got attached to the dog. Unfortunately people only complain about puppy mills but some breeder occasional cross blood lines too close. While most of the litter is fine you get an occaisional less than ideal animal. Markings, temperament or size it is a failure. I like shelties but I don’t like the tiny yappy 12 pound variety everyone thinks is the norm. I have had the pleasure of finding three great dogs all from breeders who were not “show quality” all were close to 50 pounds at full grown. Hearts of gold, stamina out the ears, obeidient and protective of their turf to the bitter end. yes there are many great “rescue” dogs available my neice(studing to be a vett) worked for an animal hospital that did alot of spca work in delco. She brought home a red nosed pit that had a chain embedded in it’s neck. This dog ias absolutely adorable, gently and wimpy. Only problem is it thinks it is like my sister’s yorkie. ever have a ninty pound pit bull sit on your lap OUCH. Paul don’t forget to look at shelters there are no bad dogs just bad owners.
Mike
I was jogging in the Mill Creek Park (Youngstown Ohio) one day, while I still lived there, and came across a whimpering sound. It was a 5 week old puppy, who had it’s back leg intentionally broke. It was going to be used as a bait dog for the local fighting rings, and was dumped due to a raid (along with around 60 other dogs found that week). He attached himself to me, my little Bruiser, and has been my best friend ever since. I don’t know what I would do without him, and I am sorry for your loss, Paul. I hope you keep a special place in your heart for that little bundle of barks, and hope that one day you may find another pup that will bond with you and give you a whole new experience (hopefully a not-too-destructive one, lol).
we have the word out, after new years. the only issue is that we have is that we only want a bull terrier. yes, other dogs are great too, but we understand these well, and we’re hooked, sorta like me and clams.
sorry to hear that Paul…
