Brown Fuge

I recently got my refugium running but the fuge area is starting to get a lot of brown algae and the macro algae is starting to get brown tips.

Is that from to much light?

:SURRENDER

light / nutrients / food

Doesn’t really matter as it’s in the fuge where it belongs.

The next time you do a water change and have a couple of gallons of saltwater to be disposed of, take the macro out of the sump and shake it out in the old saltwater. By cleaning the macro you will remove the diatoms and other crud allowing more light to reach the macro and spur growth.

Oh yeah - that too.

Damn it Al, why do you always post these reminders exactly 20 minutes AFTER I complete a water change and dump the old stuff???

Quick FYI… Macro can take freshwater for a bit so you could just wash it off in there.

There was a chance you would spill water and Lynn does not allow me to put such thought in your head.

Thanks guys
