Bumblebee snails HELP!

I’ve just found baby bumblebee snails in my tank can someone tell me of a way i can get rid of them?!

Sorry not bumblebees. They are sundials… maybe Collonistas? I’ll post a picture soon.

Here is that picture… its the best one I could get. The shell is smooth…

i hate to be “that guy”, but they r normally pretty slow… i have even been able to catch some TURBO snails by hand! Saint:)

Haha, so is that what it is? Collonista? I pray it isn’t a sundial.

Do you have a second image? There is a similar snail that is harmless. Usually only comes out a night time. I am 90% sure it is not sundial. For time being you could manually remove them when you find them and put them in a glass of tank water with no heater or water movement and typically snails of that size will survive a month that way.

Two thins I have noticed. Sundails spend 99% of their time in zoas or palys. The good type of snail will spend 90% of the day in hiding under rocks and will appear on the glass right around when the lights go off.

Oh and if they are sundials I think they can pretty easily be removed by hand. They seem to latch on to the zoas some how with like a string.

I do have another picture around here somewhere… And yes these are only out at night and they are very small. I found a picture online of a Collonista snail and it look practically the same as mine. Here is that other picture along with the picture I found online. The first is my snail and the second is the one I’ve picked up online.

Lol

The difference is in the “flap” that covers the opening on the shell. Flip it over and post a pic of the underside. If it is pointy, then it’s a sundial.

When I get home I will.

problem here is, most likely any type of control u use (be it a natural predator, or chemically) is gonna kill off all your other snails and most likely any other inverts in the tank… so regardless, i dont see much hope for control other than “picking” them out 1 by 1.

a nice pair of tweezers!

I figured as much. I would never use copper on my tank or any other kind of chemicals besides supplements, too dangerous I think.

Good call as far as I’m concerned and as far as the supplements go I always say don’t dose it unless you have a test kit for it or understand exactly what it is doing and the repercussions of overdosing.

You deside what you have is safe?
