Calling herps specialist, ID please

I found this lizard or gecko while walking outside at work. It was making squealing noise so I pick it up and put it in my jacket pocket and brought it home. Can any herp specialist ID this for me. Deciding wether to keep it or not. Thanks

Looks like a gekko to me - did it squeal in an Australian accent? ;D

Seriously - I think it’s a gekko but I’m not certain.

Wow are you in Florida? What is a cold blooded critter doing out and making noise? Perhaps it was a pet that got out somehow?

would any one knows if its local or foreign?

I can tell you it’s not naturally found in Delaware. Lizards are cold blooded animals and need warmer climates to survive.

Probably a houseplant hitchhiker. I’m no expert, but look up Gonatodes ssp. Those are gecko’s with skinny toes. I wouldn’t let it go, it will likely die. If you don’t want it, I’ll put it in the basement with my others.

Its yours Joe if you want it.

Best guess so far= Baluch ground gecko

This is a tough one! Finding an animal without knowing where it is from is difficult!

I’ll keep you posted.

Thanks Joe. By looking at the pic on the internet search, it seems to be as you guessed. Also, the habitat as it states where it’s from, it could very well be from the middle east. Has it started eating yet?

Took a few crickets, but they were really large. When I get the smaller size, I’m sure he’ll fatten right up. Neat little guy!
