It’s quite common seeing it sticking out of LR. Usually its green and not yellow. Pretty cool to have, but it comes and go in my tank.
yes algae it is a good sign of water quality it comes and goes with me too
+1 on the usually green!
WARNING. Monitor carefully. I never had luck growing in the past, but there are some on other forums who claim to have fought them for years and can not get rid of them. Some of which claim the lower the nutrients the better they do. All anecdotal claims from random people online, but just thought I would warn you to keep an eye on them.
When I first started I had a couple hitch hike and never had luck keeping them alive. Others wish that was the case.
Try googling “Neomeris annulata HELP!”
Always a good idea to get a proper ID of something and then search around for multiple sources to ensure it is something you want. If you don’t want it often times there are people who will want it, so don’t just kill something with out asking.
Just my two cents. GTG
