Need to buy a new unit, any recommendations? One with a scroll compressor. 2 1/2 Ton.
about 3 or 4 years ago i had to replace my whole heat pump system. I got a carrier 2 1/2 ton outside unit and variable speed DC fan and air handling unit indoors. It’s a SEER 13 and runs on their new PURON coolant. $6K installed. Seems great. pretty sure it’s a scroll compressor. I believe they are more efficient and reliable. It knocked $100 off my heat and cooling bills. my 16 year old carrier was a worn out SEER 7 unit. really bad.

they all have their problems trane carrier and lennox are the top three. rheem/ruud is ok but would stay away from anything else. The company I am with is big on carrier but also has trane and lennox right now we have a good deal on a lennox system it is a 17 seer single stage 98%afue modulating gas furnace merv 16 media filter and the stat is the control its all communicating for $9800 with a $1000 rebate it is a great deal now the price is give or take if you need more info pm me
