Does anybody run this in their tank? If so do you see alot of benefits?
I’ve used it in the past, but only sporadicly. About as effective as carbon.
I have always run one of those sealed 100ml bags of purigen in each filter somewhere. where water runs thru it. they pick up a lot of organics. turn dark brown after a month or two. then i clean them in bleach and rinse in dechlor per instructions and they are ready to go again. good stuff. it certainly doesnt hurt. purigen absorbs much the same stuff as carbon. I say its a good filter addition. i also add a patch of POLY PAD too to pick up any stray heavy metals, pesticides, copper or what not that may get into the water. You know, to cover all the bases. and some carbon too. but im very slow at changing the carbon out. so the purigen does the work.
