i am looking at adding a clown/anenome to my tank the clowns i am interested in are mocha oscellaris, black ice oscellaris, and maybe snowflake, what would be a good anenome to pair with one of these i only have a 46 gallon tank so i dont want one that gets too big either
What kind of lighting are you using? Some anemones need more lighting then others. You can google anemones that are typically easy to get you’re future clowns to host. I have 3 Ocellaris that hosted a Sebae that I had in a 20long tank before my upgrade with a 4 bulb t5 fixture. It didn’t get real big until it was under my metal halides. now its around 8"+ It was around 4-5" when I got it around January. They also move on their own if they don’t like the spot you put them in so keep that in mind if you have corals.
i have 175watt metal halide with 2 65watt pc actinic bulbs
Bubble tips are generally a safe bet, if you don’t have any other fish than a carpet may be a safe bet, but I personally have lost too many fish in a short period of time to a carpet.
i have one other fish now and plan on adding more in the future

Seems I find a lot of stories of people with carpets losing fish of all sizes. Bubble tips look real nice I have a red bubble tip and it seems to have a lot of color and speckles in it that make it a great addition. Sebae’s are ok looking.
FYI Sebae anemones will almost always look white with purple dots on the tips at the LFS or when you first get them which means the zooanthyle(how ever you spell it) algae has expelled from the body from stress(typically) and once it is established will change to more of a purplish color with darker purple spots. I only mention this because I bought mine when it was white and thought that was how they were supposed to look and loved it then found out the opposite.
The lighting you have to me sounds good enough even for the anemones needing the intensity.
