how much is concrete a yard delivered these days? got to be a lot? pretty sure they can deliver a short load. just drop off a couple yards for you then on to the next guy. but you got to be ready to pour when they get there. no waiting for it to set in the truck.
What sucks is that because of the car port I will have to wheelbarrow the concrete to the pad. That part is going to suck. How far can those shoots go?
I have 1 wheelbarrow and have access to 2 more so with a few friends to provide the muscle it should go semi quick. I still have to call and get the cost to determine if I am going to expand the pad.
I would figure on $125 per yard (includes short load fee) for concrete, then you have to spend a few dollars on 2X4’s, but if your subgrade is okay (probably is) that should be it. Yeah man, wheelbarrows are cheap enough to borrow. I’ve done much larger with much less.
Hmmm , $125 a yard sounds cheap. i thought it was more than that years ago. Such a deal! Thats less than a 4 x 8 sheet of 1/4 inch acrylic to make a big frag tank! I have a large steel wheel barrow we can use . got a new solid tire that wont go flat. i can help. say when. a couple yards will be no trouble at all to roll 30 feet back to the pad a couple cubic feet at a time. its heavy stuff. one cubic foot weighs about 150 pounds?. 3 wheel barrows will take 9 trips each with 2 CF for 2 yards.
uhh, but you might want to keep the truck out on the road. the weight could crack the drive. and then you have another big job. someday.
Not worried about the drive. It is concrete with blacktop on top. Originally they wanted about 10 grand to replace the sidewalks make the driveway a double wide and replace the pad. I figure I would replace a little at a time by myself or get local help and it will cost way less. So if the driveway cracks more I am not worried since I would like to replace it within the next year or so
