Are you looking for someone to do it, or for help? If you have the time, I’ll be happy to assist. I did this stuff for far too long in another life.
If you want a contractor, I know a really good one. LMK
Your pad should be @ 1.6CY of concrete, if you order a small amount you typically have a short load charge. The other option is “The Concrete Company” which mixes on the truck to order, but their quality is sometimes lacking. Probably talking $250 bucks for the mix. Try Pioneer materials, or Southgate construction for good quality mix. If you are up to it, you and I can knock it out, I owe you one or twelve anyway.
Either
I don’t mind doing the grunt work but my troweling skills are lacking.
"He rubs the trowel on the concrete…
You edited after I posted
I have 2 concrete company’s less then 1 mile form my house
there ya go. i can form it and pour it… just not much on the finishing. verdict_in i have all the tools in the work truck if u decide to do it that way. (as long as joe finishes…) lol
well lmk too then. i can give a hand… and tools
I came up with
Cubic Feet Required: 40
Cubic Yards Required: 1.48

I was going to call them to see what the minimum amount would be along with cost.
This is for a pad that will only hold people and a future basketball court so I think I could even get away with 3".
I will have to get exact measurements tomorrow.
Actually there are 7 listed with in a mile of my house

You wanna figure on four inches depth for a standard 2X4 form, (I know, not really 2X4) I said 1.6 because I always allow about 10% for waste and low subgrade spots. The price will be the same. I’m happy to come up and help man, I just sold my tools at the yardsale, but to my next-door neighbor so I think I can borrow them back.
And I’d google “ready mix” not concrete, that’s gonna give you contractors instead of suppliers in most cases.

How deep should the stone base be?
Technically, I’d go 1.5" per inch of PCC, or 6". But if you’re only using it for foot traffic, I’ve seen it go in on just dirt and last twenty years. If you are replacing, it’s better than putting in new concrete, because there is no organic layer to peel off, and it’s already pretty much compacted. If you take up the old stuff yourself, try not to disturb the dirt as much as possible.
The existing pad is larger then I thought
9’11"x 18’6"
This is the old pad with a big crack in the center
The water sits in the middle during a rain and the grass which is a little higher then the pad allows extra water to settle there.
Must be from letting a 200g tank sit there for ever…
Be sure to put some slope on the finished concrete AWAY from the house. So water runs to the grass, and not puddle and seep in around the foundation. That might be what cracked the current slab. Water gets under it near the foundation and freezes, expands and rises. Then drops in spring. I’m not sure what spec might be on slope, but at least an inch drop from foundation to lawn. Also have the slab surface above the grass enough to clear water, and allow for settle. you can always add a little dirt to slope the lawn to the slab top a couple inches. if you dont, and the slab settles below the lawn surface you wont have a patio no more, you will have a shallow pond.
That’s exactly what I think happened to the original. My yard is lower then the yard behind me and water does move towards the house. I figured if I leave it the same size pad 1" would be fine also but now Jen is asking to extend it out a bit more. Depending on where it ends up being I will probably go with 1" per 10’ of concrete.
Jen wants to possibly expand the pad to be the same length as the deck
I was thinking I would also put a small ledge about 4" deeper on the outside of the pad to keep water from running under the pad.
Just LMK when…
Jen mentioned she would like to go out to the end of the deck
I am not sure I like this idea. Would be good for a small basketball court but its a lot of concrete in the yard.
About 16’x 23.5’ if I go with her idea
Any thoughts?
Joe it would be in Sept since we are having a party labor day weekend and I don’t want to have a torn up yard before the party.
Looks as if there may be a bit more fall if yo go out that far, which will help. The cost is going to go up a bit, but keep in mind that until you get to four CY of material, you’ll get hit with a “short load” charge, so an extra yard or two of concrete may be less than you think.
I will make myself available in September.
