Coral Beauty treatment ?

I bought the CB from DPA on Sunday that was torn up from the Trigger if anyone remembers. It was a good price and nice fish… Anyways is there anything other than Time that i could give this little guy to help speed recovery? I have it in my 220 which has two pieces of LR and 240lbs of live sand. Also slightly emaciated Sailfin as a swimming buddy. I’ve been feeding them Frozen Marine Cuisine, Reef Plankton, Myisis shrimp, Green seaweed and purple seaweed on a clip.

I’m going to grab some slecon or garlic not sure which one the LFS has (PV Aquatics) to help incourage appetite.

any help is appreciated as usual!

Time is really going to be the best thing for the fish. As long as it is swimming and eating it will heal and get better with time. Good meaty foods and seaweed will do wonders to speed the recovery.

PV Aquatics[/quote]

Gotta ask. What/where is PV Aquatics?

+1 on what Craig said. Swimming eating … good.

Pennsville Aquatics. Like everything else in Jersey it’s right over the bridge.

Lynn shopped in there one day - they weren’t going to sell her a fish becasue they thought she was going to wait the 6 hours for me to get home to acclimate it. Good service.

And their website appears to be out of date

Pennsville is one road shouldn’t be that hard to find lOl

I had a coral beauty that was torn up a bit and it recovered nicely. They do heal really well. Make sure the CB gets plenty of food. Since he is in the large main tank keep an eye to confirm it is eating. You could soak the food in a vitamin supplement but I have never had luck with lots of garlic extract. They don’t eat a ton of garlic as some claim. I did add some garlic to my homemade food but not a lot. You can also add a small banana slice. They will avoid it at first till a fish gets brave and tries it; then it will be eaten quickly.
It may also help to add a very small amount of food and when they move towards that area of the tank add some additional

additional … food?

when i worked at chambers works in nj i would go there after work…(PV)
last time i was there they had more aiptasia than fishman…
they had to take all the rock outside and let it sit for a day…

+1 banana, broccoli, zuchinni (freeze first, then thaw and serve.) :GEEK:

I’ll try the suggestions… Thanks…

over the last two days the CB has developed Cloudy eyes. I think that it is bacterial infection of some sort and not Flukes or eye flukes as i have read since there is no fluid in the eye… he’ll be in the hospital tank and I’ll be trying some treatments on him as well as some vitamins to help bolster the immune system.

He is in the hospital tank and Being treated with Melafix anti bacterial from API for the moment it’s all i could find local last minute. I’ll give him a week or two in there and see how things progress.

Update and a Lock… CB didnt make it at day two of treatment… one eye cleared up pretty good then the other started looking better but no luck…

Sorry about the loss. I hate losing fish.
