Why does the Super Skimmer keep shooting lots of bubbles back into my aquarium?
Saltwater aquariums build up impurities in the water called organics. They also build up phenols, and oils from biological processes. These impurities raise the “surface tension” of the water which coats the bubbles made by the skimmer and makes them hold more intact and changes their density. Some bubbles become heavier and are able to make their way out of the bottom of the skimmer to the tank. If the skimmer is allowed to remove these impurities the surface tension will go down and no more bubbles will make their way to the tank.
SO HOW DO I FIX IT… uhhhh
coralife was actually bought by a company called energy savers. maybe try searching for them…
I did, couldnt find any info on the company justfor sale websites
i had a coralife digital thermometer that was off by 8 degrees (confirmed by a meat thermometer and a glass one) crashed my nano and cost me hundreds.
many reefers i talk to online and in person agree their quality is below what we flush in the morning.
to be more specific, the thermometer read 82, it was actually 90 degrees. charlie at dpa asked me “didnt the water feel warm to you” when i told him the story…
what do you do? check the temp…
:-)lol
i use a glass thermo, but i agree i wouldnt go coralife again… i hear the asm series is good
i have glass now too

How long has it been running? It can take a couple of weeks for a skimmer to break in.

And, I think, ESU was bought out by Oceanic Systems. ESU’s website used to be http://esuweb.com , but that now redirects to the Oceanic Systems website.
If you click through Products | Filtration | Skimmers , you’ll get to the Super Skimmers on the Oceanic site.
ya, it was 2 months old…
Oceanic owns them i think… but im still getting no responds to email… if no-1 can find the problem on the 10th at fishbowl i will just start calling numbers for oceanic…
