Corals

So I rarely get my self coral for my personal tank, well I did a order from jakarta and I have a med elegance coral metallic green with red and purple polyps comming in tomorrow. I am stoked cause they are easy in my opion to keep.

So the point of this thread, who has a fave coral that they wanted to have and just never got around to getting it???

Spiral / wire corals. Must have IMO.

Never heard of the bug out stylo. Have to research that one and see what it looks like.

Wow, just saw the pic of it. Very nice coral indeed. And how does Jason Fox put his name on it. Lol

Mine have and always will be the original GARF Purple Bonsai. Could never find one around here. And once maybe I can get a hold of one, I was not ready to keep it for a reason or another. Maybe this time I will get lucky and get a frag of one. Many say it’s GARF Bonsai that they have, but I have never seen a colony of it to proof that’s it not.

A - I have a small frag that I picked up from the frag swap and it’s the real deal. However, it’s growing pretty slow but has insane color. If you can wait for it, I can try to frag a piece for you a little more down the road. I’d be happy to hook you up.

Matter of fact, I’ve been thinking of moving that frag a little to see if I can stimulate some growth.

Also - To add to my wish list -

Solitareyensis and Efflorescens.

Are they one of the same? I googled and the pics come up with something looking like efflo.

Very similar, to the point where there’s usually confusion with ID but there’s a slightly different growth pattern between them.

Anything here.

I have the efflo! And it’s growing nicely. It’s grow pattern is not like normal sps. It grows like a shelf which makes it hard to frag without making the colony look like I cut half of it off.

Killin me bro - lol.

I’ve heard the same about fragging it, it’s tough to do / makes it look strange. But - you know - if you happen to accidentally frag that mug one day, let me know - hahaha

Thanks Todd. I would love a piece of it one day. I hear the true GARF Bonsai do grow really slow. Nothing you can really do but to just leave it alone and let it grow.

Seeing that thing in person was a treat. One of the nicest coral I’ve seen yet, 2 tone color. I believe we’ve talk about this before that it was the $500 efflo. If its not, it’s seems to worth $500 to me.

Yeah, that and the fact it encrusts forever before it actually starts to branch.
