5.75 mg exp 5/11 for dogs and puppies 11-25lbs
I will be working from 7am to 1pm, than run around town a little. Possibly be home 5-6pm. I can just leave it with my wife on in mailbox.
Thanks for the offer, but that size wouldn’t give me a full dose. if my math is right 5.75mg would only treat about 95 gallons.

I also have 4 interceptor for large dogs (23mg) I still have the dog but can take him the the vet and get more.
If you don’t mind letting me get one, and paying for another for the pooch that would be great! I’ll shoot you a pm at a reasonable hour tmmrw… thanks!! :BEER Alright i’m going to go have nightmares of bugs for now…
Well, i got my interceptor monday and treated the tank monday night…
So, its been a couple days after the first treatment now…still no red bugs! and i have still been seeing copepods on my glass every morning, but no amphipods anywhere to bee seen. And definitely more polyp extension on the acros’s that had them. Not a WOW moment, but noticeably more extension after the first 5 hrs, and a little more everyday. I never saw the polyps out on the bonsai like this since i had it . I should be doing a follow-up video later.
btw… I didn’t put the hermits back in the system the next day, like i’ve read that a lot do, i don’t want to keep catching them over the next couple weeks of treatment, and i believe that would be an easy way to re-introduce them (redbugs) back into the water.
And no negative affects have been seen on anything. This treatment seems to work like a charm, very easy and effective.

Good to hear it’s working out for you John. Can I be in line for that bonsai frags with out the red bugs on it. hehehehe
Damn, i thought that would be a hot selling point…“One dozen “rare” red copepods free with every purchase” >LOCO<
::
Update…Still no signs of any bugs after the 1st treatment.
And, I performed the 2nd treatment 2 days ago, same procedure. No negative affects again, but this time i haven’t seen any pods on the glass since. Also my Queen conch hasn’t moved after this treatment, but no other snails were affected, so maybe it was just a coincidence. Polyp extension just keeps improving, as well as color on the affected acro’s. I plan on doing the 3rd and final dose next week just to be safe.

Glad to hear everything is going good.
Thanks John, and thanks for the reassurance btw… it is really easy, and it works great…hurts nothing…cept pods that is. Was it you that said “if you’re gonna get a pest, this ones a piece of cake to get rid of”??? well whoever said it was right!
Just FYI. I got an acropora frag from the March meeting, and about a week ago I noticed that I had redbugs on it. I haven’t seen any on my montipora that I got from Dr. Macs though. Now, I am not saying that they came in on the acro, just saying that I had noticed some on it.
I am going to talk to my in-laws big animal vet (dairy cows) and see if she has any Interceptor that she can get me. I normally get really really cheap rabies vaccines from her for my dog, so maybe she can hook me up for this too.
What are the chemicals in Interceptor that I should be looking for? For my dog, I give him a shot of heartwormer every month starting in spring through summer that I get from the big animal vet, so I am wondering if I can mix that stuff up in a solution of water to add…
Sorry to hear that, and they may have came from those frags…their on my list as a culprit, but in the end its my fault, from now on i’ll treat new arriving acros with a stricter dipping/quarantine. They won’t get on your monti, they seem very specific to certain smooth acros, and pretty much stay on the host. And they don’t seem to do damage too quick. I wouldn’t experiment with anything not proven to work, i’ve read and heard about alternative treatments going bad. the ingredient that is the effective part is called “Milbemycin Oxime” , and the other ingredients in “intercepter” are harmless beef flavoring. Milbemycin Oxime is also found in “sentinel” i believe, but it also has a flea killing agent that doesn’t react well in the tank. And the dosage amount is important, i did the minimal dose on mine, and it dropped every bug at hour 6 just like this link says, i followed it to a T.http://www.dfwmas.org/Forums/viewtopic.php?t=14402
Is it just on the one frag? if it is, you can try just dipping that coral in a 6hr treatment like the link says, but imo if you’re sure its redbugs, i’d just treat the whole system, very easy and effective, just save the crabs and shrimp first!
I’ll give you the intercepter you need for treating … just tell me your estimated water volume. and if you don’t have a very accurate digital scale capable of those small measurements, then i can portion it out for you.
I can give it to you at the meeting, or if you want it sooner, or if you wont be there monday just lmk and we can meet up.
Happen to have a pic of which coral its on? or at least a pic that looks like the type? I’m trying to keep track of the most attacked acros.
Just a quick reminder, when buying corals to add to your tank, please keep in mind, that just because the price is cheap, that alone should not be the determining factor on whether to buy or not. How a coral or frag is maintained while being held by the retailer or even another hoobbyist is the key. Quality frags will cost more money, but the extra cash is well worth it. If your tank is loaded with beautiful corals and you should introduce a pest into the tank,it could be devastating. We have a lot of money invested in our systems, why cheap out on what we put in them. Just my :TWOCENTS
Just wanted to update this thread, my bonsai was looking a little funny lately, so i was looking for parasites. Also a couple of new members have asked about red bugs. So i thought it would be good info.
I’m 6 months clean still YahoO
