Well currently I have a 37 gallon and I’d like to upgrade to a rimless RR tank that’d be between 50-65 gallons. I’d like to buy it custom and have been doing some research where to buy it. I found a couple of companies:
-Miracles Aquariums
-Reef Savvy
-Elos > seems extremely pricey
What do you guys think about these companies? any other ones i missed?
I don’t know squat about custom companies, but what are you looking for custom wise? certain dimensions? glass/acrylic ? just curious about the “custom price-tag” route
Very good question. To give you an idea of custom prices, I sent a request for a quote for a tank that was 36X18X16 with no overflow box. Quote came back with a price tag of $963…… a couple times a year you can go to That Pet Place or Petco or Petsmart and get the same sized aquarium for $40! If you were impatient you could get one for $90 at any LFS and it would still be 1/10th the cost of a custom tank with the same dimensions.
So as John said what were you looking for custom? If you already own a good controller, sweet skimmer, Vortech pumps, calcium reactor, kalk reactor, and all the corals and fish you want and still have extra cash to burn give me a call, lol. There are lots of other places to spend your money besides a tank that is 2" larger then the standard tank.

That’s quite a lot. Do LFS sell rimless tanks? I called thatfishplace and I was told they do not. The only one I saw is that 57 gallon oceanic one.
I’ve seen the rimless cubes… are you looking for glass or arcylic?
Glass probably. I also saw a couple of people with deep blue tanks online, not sure how those are. Also seems like glass cages doesn’t get good reviews
custom jobs are running 600+ and I haven’t really found a company I was conformable with.
While I’m working out the details of the tank, I ran into another question…
I’m upgrading my T5 as well, and it came down to the TEK Elite vs the ATI Sunpower. Googling this question will generally lead to towards the ATI but why?? Is 20% extra par that important? Both have fans so the bulb life should be the same should it? and people often say ‘its german engineering so it must be good.’ Is there anything else I’m missing that’s the big ATI advantage here?

…just looking for some thoughts
I have a 6 bulb TEK t-5 fixture, my tank is 24" tall and my lights are 8-10 off my water and I can grow some easier SPS and my clam on the sand bed with no problem. The ATI is a nicer fixture but much more money. Just run a tek fixture and use a good combo of ATI blus plus and some Ati Aquablue special bulbs for a crisp color.
