In case anyone was interested DPA has updated their website. They’re now accepting special orders and some of the available corals are listed on the “Specials” page.
Wow, arent you being modest! I have it from a good source that your single handedly responsible for the new page craig. Good job man! Looks good!

sorry about that. i like it, very clean and easy to navigate. when it comes to a good webpage, i think only two things matter. it has to be easy to navigate and it has to be current. i think a current WYSIWYG section is pretty much mandatory for any coral vendor. i was speaking to charlie about this last night. at the very least, he should post pictures of his cherry picks in the subforum. i personally think it would generate a lot more traffic to his store.
That’s a good idea - I only see one flaw…
If I go in to take pics of the new corals for the WYSIWYG page or the forum - there’s a very good chance I will buy them while I’m there - then there’s no need for the pictures.
Oh what a conundrum I’m in lOl
Why would they put a special order section on the website? I have called charlie and ordered stuff twice and never received a phone call to say they have it and its been almost 2 months. Maybe the special orders section is for special people!! I have spent so much money there its not funny and to not get respect enough to order what you say you will and a phone call to say they are in would be nice considering I live 25 min away and don’t wanna drive to see if it arrived.
I’d say it’s a move to a more full service type environment. I can’t speak to why or why not orders weren’t placed or phone calls not made, but this will give people the opportunity to send an e-mail when they find something online they like and would rather pick it up locally.
It’s just a way to try to better serve their customers.
And it gives Charlie a better idea as to what type of items people want to see in the store.
Im just saying if he can’t order and call wen somthings in then how you gonna remember to check an email? I think its just typical buisness owners that start a new buisness and forget about the little customer and start to worry about the world wide web. Thinking the internet will get them rich. I say take care of your phone orders from customers that buy frequently first then worry about internet. Maybe dpa will turn out to be just like newark tropicals. I used to hear people complain about the same stuff about nt people go in and order stuff then they never get it they would just keep forgeting about it.
Site looks good. Not really a big fan of M$ FrontPage, but it works. Just the usual M$ bloat. And typically (almost always, really) not XHTML compliant.
Other than that, the one item that could easily be added would be a PayPal button or link instead of a direct to the generic PP page. Of course, that could be handled with a follow-up email post-order.
Thanks for the feedback - wasn’t sure I wanted to do a PP button there - figured it was more informational then functional -I originally didn’t even have it linked. Thanks for the xhtml link - I’m really not familiar with xhtml - just doing this in my spare time, but I couldn’t help checking:
DPA has 11 errors
Google has 76 errors
So I guess it could be worse.
I wouldnt worry about being XML compliant as long as the goal is to simply be an informative website. When and if charlie decides to offer online transaction, well, lets just say let the fun begin! lOl

If Charlie decides to go with web transactions and E-Commerce I will call the professional web designer myself.
Looks great! Other site was pooo…One suggestion, lower res pics on the thumbnails on the main page. Hate opening a site and watching the pics slowly pan down (its slow over the T1 here at work)
i can build you a version using XHTML and CSS this weekend…just for my own amusement…ill post it up by sunday…
i have a hiphop website that me and my brother run here in delaware…
Thank you all for the comments. I changed the resolution on the images to help the pages load faster.
My bad I got on a rant and totally forgot to give my opinion on the site changes! The site has done a 360 since I was on it a month ago. The pictures and the layout and new sections are cool. Good job craig! Keep up the good work. I might need you for a job doing a website if your interested?

Always looking for a way to kill free time. Send me a PM.
Added the form to submit your e-mail address at the bottom of the home page.
This will enable you to get e-mails about new specials and any sales events that may be planned.
I’m always in … AAAAWWWWWE!!! of people who can do puter stuff. And especially appreciative when it helps me and my DIAL-UP connection load stuff faster.!!
Ken you’d be better helped if someone were to pretend they were you and sign you up for high speed. You’re really not going to be happy with me when I build my new website.
