Dr. Mac Trip July 30th

OK folks -you asked for it - you got it!!

I just spoke with Becky at Pacific East Aquaculture (Dr. Macs) and scheduled our club trip for July 30th.

We will meet at the Bear library at 9am and carpool and caravan down. They will have pizza waiting for us for lunch, and as always the good Dr. will be on hand to help us select the finest specimens to bring home. (we will have someone OTHER than Ken navigate this time though ;D )

All are welcome to attend we just need to give a head count so they know what to expect. While discounts haven’t been discussed, traditionally the more people we have show up the better the deals are.

We figured a month’s notice should give us plenty of time to make room in our tanks and save some cash for a proper Dr. Mac shopping excursion.

Please post here if you’re able to make it.

any idea on what time we would likely return back home? count me in ill be there

Traditionally we’re home by about 4

It’s generally a 2 hour ride each way. unless, of course, Craig lets me lead the wagon train on the “Scenic Route”. So that leaves about 3 hours to munch lunch, browse and choose and bag up the goodies to leave for home by about 2PM.

A word of caution is to seriously mind the speed limits on the way. There are many infamous speed trap areas along the way. We lost one member one year who left a little later and drove himself. while trying to catch up, he blew the bundle on a ticket half way there and turned around and went home. Slowwwly.

The wagon train/car pool will keep us on pace, and we keep in touch by swapping cell numbers. It’s a pleasant ride through some nice country with Pacific East Aquaculture at the end of the rainbow.

I think by now everyone is familiar with Pacific East. Just in case, if you haven’t been there yet
YOU NEED TO GO ON THIS TRIP!!!

Highest quality stuff, great-knowledgeable people, can’t miss! I will have my tank restructured by then and will attend from Dover, anyone carpooling down here?

woop woop! Im there

I think I can make this trip, no problem! lOl YahoO

I’m In, can drive and take 3 others and coolers, if needed but have a gas guzzler 14MPG sports truck.

The caravan should stop on the way down, say at the Camden Walmart. Then those of us in central Kent County can take off 45 minutes going North and back South. If that isn’t gonna happen I will see y’all at the good Dr’s at about 11.

Good idea Pat - we’ll have to check the route and see if we go past the Walmart. If not we’ll find somewhere else to meet up with our southern members.

No problem for a tank tour after the Dr. visit. I live about 13 min from there, just a little east before Rte 13. I have been removing rocks and reaquascaping my tank, getting it all set for nothing but SPS. Can’t wait to see everyone at Mac’s.

If the caravan heads down 13 south of Dover it’s on the right less then a mile from where rt 10 crosses 13. PBJ! YahoO

Oh Boy. Get to see Johns Tank and Boat! Im sure your tank will be very good as an SPS tank. Thats what i want to do too. An over crowded bouquet of colorful SPS bumping into each other is a great sight. Ive been collecting frags of good stuff to start it off with when i get around to replacing the old tank. Cant wait to see your Tank.

things are working out, finally, in the direction of me being able to go. can make a firm commitment later. but hopeful.

Just left the Dr.'s office and he informed me that he will be getting, ready for this,…

::drool:: :BEER

a Thousand( 1,000) clams in the store some time next week. WOW!!! He also said that in this shipment wil be clams of various sizes, anywhere from 1.5 inches to 5-6 inches. Of course some of the clams will be sold to other retailers, but there will still be like 600 clams to choose from this batch.
And the best part of this is that they will be there for our club visit. YES! And in this shipment will be some amazing acans and beautifully colored zoas.
