here is a question my fish tank is still in cycleing mode. So i dont have any corals let alone frags so what do i do in that situation.

Well if you’re not ready for frags yet that is a problem. I was going to say you can pick up a 410 frag at the LFS of your choosing but if you’re not able to put a new one in your tank it is a moot point.
I guess we’ll make an exception and not charge you a frag at the door ;D You just won’t get to pick from the pool of available frag bags.
Start a new thread jsodonnelljr and define cycling. Tanks are continuously cycling. In my opinion after live rock the first animals hardy enough to be placed into an aquarium are your mushroom anemones and zoanthids. Fish are more sensitive then these animals and snails are much more sensitive to water chemistry issues then either. If you end up with an Acropora coral at the meeting there is a good chance you could swap out for a hardier coral your tank can handle. Start a new thread and we can discuss.
i dont have any sorta light that would sustain any coral for long period so corals areno good for me
Do you have any light on your tank and do you plan on putting more on with in the next month?
If you’re not ready for coral it is completely acceptable to not bring a frag and not take home a frag. This dinner is designed for the club, it’s officers, and board members to show their appreciation to the members of the club. Without all of you we’re not a club just a bunch of people that cross paths in a fish store occasionally.
We’re up to approximately 30 people thus far!!! This should be a GREAT time!!! If you have not already done so, please let us know by Friday (12/17/10) if you plan on attending -we need to get a final headcount together for the restaurant.
Hey I was planing on attend my first meeting and it just so happens it your Christmas party. I saw in the post about “upgrading” membership. Does that mean I can join the club? If so then I will be attending with my wife and a buddy of mine who would also like membership we currenly belong to D.S.A.S and now graduated and want to hang with you salt guys.
That’s great Reefer -yes you can join the club at the dinner. It’s $10 per person or $20 per family (I think). Your convert friend is also welcome to join.
The room holds 70 so we’ve still got room for more!!!
Is Michael’s going to let us have a tank set up for the frags, or will there be a cooler with heat packs for them or do we have to eat and run to keep them warm?
I am going to try to get an insulated box or 2 from DPA this weekend to kep the frags in while we have dinner.
I dont think we need to set up a tank - not sure about the need for heat packs. It’ll probably be 75 in the room we’ll be in.
Craig, I have a bunch of those hand warmer heatpacks you can have if you want just in case. Let me know and I can arrange to drop them off to you one night before the meeting.
