I am going to separate my fuge from my sump in a separate 10 gallon tank, and place it next to my display. I am going to put a pump in the sump directly to the fuge, and have the fuge drain back into the sump. I would like to drill my 10gal. First question: Are 10gal tanks drillable? ::
It seems silly to have every member that wants to drill their tank buy a diamond bit.
Second question: Does anybody have a 1" drill bit (and any other necessary bits) that I could borrow/rent? ::
I drilled 2 for Jon and he drilledcracked one in his quest to connect 3 - 10 gallon tanks together. If you do it go very slow it is very thin. I would suggest that you put an acrylic square larger then the hole to give added support. The support will also come in handy to support the bulkhead and any vibrations or accidental movement.
If possible I would go for a larger tank that’s thicker or better yet acrylic.
I have scrap pieces of polycarb that i can use to reinforce the area. I’ll be using the 10gallon because i just happen to have one. Unless anyone has a drilled 10gal that they want to part with, I’m going to proceed within the next 3 days.
Should I attach the polycarb reinforcements perminantly, and before I start drilling?
Where did you want the hole drilled? I have a brand new never used 20 gallon that I drilled a hole in to determine if I could drill my larger tank, I dont want much for it. Especially since I got it for $20.00.

Space is a bit of an issue, I’m putting it on display next to my DT and have just enough room for the 10. Would I be able to borrow the bit?[/quote]
I dont own the bits myself, I had borrowed them from a friend, if I had my own I would have no problem lending them out.
