Your tank is looking good, thanks for sharing. :BEER
Any tank info? Tank size? Equipment?
The tank is 36 x 20 x24, lit by a reefkoi 200w led light(20,00k). Octopus 300 ps, a converted wet/dry ,with 2 media reactors( 1 with carbon, 1 with tlf bio-pellets). circulation is done by 2 twin circulation pumps each capable of 3200 gph, and a quietone return pump (4000).
Thanks for sharing. Your the tank looks great. By the looks of the growth on the montis, your tank has been up for a while. Also, notice you have that devil fish in your tank too (black and white stripe damsel). How’s the reefkoi led working out for you? I heard difference in opinion about them. How are they with the growth on your hard corals?
How long have you been running the TLF bio-pellets? are you using the NPX Bio-Plastics or other brand of pellets? are you getting any negative or positive results or still the same with no changes? I’m also running the TLF reactor with the NPX bio-plastics. I’m in my third week with it and notice things are starting to change for the better, keeping my fingers cross.
Sorry, for all the questions. I just like to learn the different ways that people are having success with their tanks.
I have been running the biopellets for 3+ months now, while the corals have responded real well , i have developed a small case of red cyno. I have read that carbon based pellets can cause an outbreak because of too much carbon , so you need to watch the amount of pellets you use.
My damsel fish has been with me over four years and two tank changes. This current tank is two years old and is a change from a 48 X 20 X16, to please the wife. my other fish include two tangs( 1 yellow and 1 blue) a flame angle ( he keeps the damsel inline) a royal gamma, solar wrasse and a exquiste wrasse.
The reefkoi lights are only two months old, before i had twin 150 mh lights, but i decided to switch to reduce cost of running the tank.
Thanks for the reply. Good luck with the tank and please keep us updated on that bio-pellets use. I would like to know the long term use.
